WORK > Cocoon: small transformations

Upcycled thread, my grandmother's old red sewing thread, borax crystals, cat bone, gold paint, hemp cordage, embroidery cotton, glass and gold jewel box.

'Isolation nest' discusses my personal solitude during the pandemic —hoarded thread from my textile projects formed to resemble the beautiful lichen clinging to the trees on my property. I feel and have felt rooted in place as though I am trapped in time with the quartz in the rock beneath my feet and the slow growing lichen around me.
